I would be much more %26quot;encouraged%26quot; if mass transit actually worked and bike lanes/racks/safe storage were actually available in my area. Most of my %26quot;downtown%26quot; transportation is getting there. Once I%26#039;m there I park and walk, don%26#039;t do much driving, so the toll wouldn%26#039;t be very effective in my case.

Good point ! We need to really improve the alternatives, instead of just punish us with tolls

  • Unless you have absurd tolls you probably won%26#039;t move all that many people off the roads.

Public transport needs to be up to the task if you want people to use it so you might need to invest money in it (and don%26#039;t even think of buses as the way to get cars off the road, they pretty much only serve the transit dependant).

Bicycles lack the stability to be a reasonable transportation technology.
  • I think it would be a bad idea because it would just make people angry and would give them a negative attitude towards saving the planet and they wont recycle. me
  • We already have huge tolls downtown- they%26#039;re called parking fees.
  • How about not using taxes to micromanage people%26#039;s behavior?

I love to bike and walk but it%26#039;s a choice.
  • Everyone would pretend to be tourists. We can barely afford gas!
