How can I save more money on my electric (energy) bill?
We already turn the air up pretty high when we leave our house %26amp; during the day. We keep lights off as much as possible. What else can I do! I have a 2000 squarefoot house and have 300 dollar electric bills each month!

insulation works to keep a building cool as well as warm. loft insulation is a cheap way to make a difference. a green roof would be very good, if you have any rainfall at all to keep it alive. covering the roof with solar panels, reflective (looks like aluminium) paint, even painting it white would help.
we have no a/c, but in a heat wave we hang wet sheets over the big door in the picture window, the incoming air is cooled by the evaporation. this lasts several hours.

change your light bulbs to the flourescent type, and be sure to unplug all electronic devices like your television, radio, ect. Even tho they are not turned on, the still drain a little juice. Enough applicance (including printers and computer monitors) unplugged will make a difference.

Turn off %26quot;passive use%26quot; items. E.g., the DVD player, tv and DVR, computer, etc. are often plugged into a power strip that is switched to %26quot;on%26quot; all day. Turn off those power strips.
Unplug charging stations when not needed - phones, PDA%26#039;s, gardening tools.
And I agree, clean a/c filters make a huge difference.
