gcnp - why are you assuming the CO2 emissions from natural gas and coal plants are equal? My impression is that CO2 emissions from natural gas plants are significantly lower, which explains the discrepancy.7 months ago
If you try 59336 (somewhere in Montana) the power mix is 75% coal and 138% the national average CO2 emissions.10% non hydro

For anyone who is interested, check with your local electricity provider or google %26quot;green up%26quot; and your area. The costs are probably different throughout the country, but in the northeast, it adds 2.4 cents per kw hour. It%26#039;s only about $5-$6 extra a month for my bill, which I think is well worth what it saves.
EDIT: You can also choose to get 50% of your electricity from clean sources if you can%26#039;t swing the 100%.
Hydro %26amp; 10% by Windmill %26amp; thats the best I can get alltough I
pay a little more for it,cannot get planning for solar panels
