How efficient are Heat Pumps in Ventilation Units? I%26#039;m considering buying a ventilation unit with a heat pump inside. It%26#039;s supposed to be better than night storage and convection heating.

• a heat pumps cost to operate as compared to gas or resistive heaters depends on outside temperature. If the outside temp drops below about 50 F or 10C for a significant amount of time, then gas is cheaper. At 40 F or 5C, the heat pump will not work and you%26#039;ll have to resistive electric heat which is expensive. 33% 1 Vote
