I suspect that there is little difference in money for your pocket between recycling an aluminum can or returning it for a rebate (with them recycling it).However, there will be a big difference between the two with plastic bottles (soft drinks, tea, and water). The California rebate is (I believe) 5 cents per container. The per pound value for plastic is close to nothing.
So definitely get the CRV for your plastic bottles if you use them. While you are at it, get the CRV for your aluminum to save you an extra trip. 100% 2 Votes
