I like the idea of going green...?
but im only 14. any ideas on how to help the going green project and the world wildlife foundation? i just bought 2 shirts made of recycled cotton, so i know i can do stuff like that but any other ideas?
Hello,
you can go green MANY ways! First off, dont let the water run the whole time you brush your teeth. 2. you can use the same towel you dried off with yesterday to dry off with again today, its ok.... were not that dirty. 3. Dont litter anything..4. clean out your dryer vent..., reuse your plastic bags, dont use plastic bags, dont use stryofoam, ect.....
Please don%26#039;t buy into this movement. I mean that, while it%26#039;s good to not litter, recycle, or walk to school of you can, for example, you should not overdo it, since climate change is a natural process. Decreasing pollution is very good, just don%26#039;t get carried away by buying carbon credits or changing all the lightbulbs in your house, for example.
you could try to cut your familys energy bill by unpluging electronics (dvd players, computers etc...) when they are not in use. also try to reduce your shower time, just by a minute or 2. itll add up and make a pretty big difference. lastly, ride your bike to a friends house instead of getting a ride in a car
Probably the single best thing a person can do is adopt a vegetarian diet. The meat industry has probably does the most environmental harm in terms of energy used, greenhouse gases emitted, water used, soil, water, and air pollution, etc. The UN recently released a report in which it said that meat consumption was responsible for more greenhouse gas emissions than all forms of transportation combined.
since you are only 14 you may need to go to your parents and ask them how they feel about it. if you parents dont have time or dont care about your global concerns. do some research - you are in school - go to the library. read a book for goodness sake. get off the internet - you are using electricity!
You can start recycling. Thats just a smalll thing you can do.
you can make your own shirts
EDIT: Dont give up meat!!!
give up on electronics!!
OMISH!!
Recycle, recycle, recycle....Change your screw in light bulbs to the florescent screw in type......ride a bike instead of a car or bus.....plant trees and other plants.
Switch to florescent lamps, they save huge amount of energy
use ONLY recycled paper, plant trees, recycle all PLASTIC!! and PAPER!!
try that for a starter.
somehow inspire other people
keep up the good work...
best wishes :)
