I want to start making my own stuff (soaps, bread, etc.) good beginner projects?? I really want to start making my own things around the house. What are some of your favorite things to make and how do you do it? Any good books or articles on the subject?

I was thinking of making my own bread, cloth diapers, soap, and a couple of other things. What is good for a beginner??

Powdered laundry soap!! Get a bar of soap such as ivory or kirks castile and grate finely. Should be one cup of grated soap,add 1/2 cup borax and 1/2 cup washing soda(not baking soda) find in laundry isle.Mix,to make it really fine you can put in blender or food processor and tada!!!!! you have soap,use 2 T. per load more if large load
