Of course it%26#039;s not a waste, though some people may feel it is. The more we recycle, the less goes to landfill, the less CO2 emissions are created %26amp; the better the chance of habitats %26amp; species for future generations to see %26amp; care for.
So...it costs a little more because of the processes which are involved. We are encouraged to recycle more so that costs become less. People have only become more greedy in recent years through advances in technology %26amp; media influences etc. Y have a new phone etc. when the old 1 still works??
After all the advances we%26#039;re still going backwards!!....what is money but paper %26amp; metal??
Money=paper=trees=oxygen %26amp; habitats. =P Keen recycler 14% 1 Vote -
Price of things will still continue to rise simply because as consumers, we make it rise. If there was a cheaper and easier way of getting something that was recyclable, the market would shift in that direction in a second. Most consumers see any type of recycling as a burden. Fine, you don%26#039;t have to buy resuable bags, but you can atleast reuse the plastic bags that you have even if its for the trash. People want something for nothing and are not even willing to put in the effort for it.
That being said, those of us who still care and want to do something about it have to continue our efforts. We must continue to educate those that don%26#039;t understand and we have to be innovative in the methods of fabrication. The american spirit of innovation has taken a back seat to the consumer spirit of cheaper faster, and less hassle. The ideals of building your own motorcycle our of scrap you have at home has been curbed by the idea of buying your own signature series, OCC chopper (I confess I want one of those but its not the point). If the American spirit was to flourish, then the electrical car, alternative fuel powerd engines or other such innovations would have been been created in some guy%26#039;s garage. We need remove some attention from commercialism and start putting more attention in making environmental issue faster, easier, and more convenient.
Note: Government subsidies for creating recycle bins would be a great start and remove subsidies for buying a bigger and more expensive car. 14% 1 Vote -
Ofcorse its all rising, %26quot;our planet is at risk!%26quot;
you should just keep recylcling as normal! If you think about everything else like how it gets there its still a problem but at the end of the day thats their problem, at least you are doing your bit! 14% 1 Vote -
It%26#039;s a business. You have to wonder about the material and energy cost of making all those bins, driving the trucks to pick the stuff up, and so on.
