Is there a safe way to dispose of those new energy saving light bulbs? I hear that they contain mercury and this presents a problem when it comes to throwing them away.

You can take them to The Home Depot. They will handle disposal for you.

• I throw them and regular full sized fluorescents in the trash, and I have for years.
• Some stores have recycling boxes but this varies with the individual store. Ask. They probably recycle their own fluorescent tubes and would be willing to add your bulb to their pile.
