matt k - it%26#039;s not about resenting the type of person who genuinely does try to do their bit for the environment since I do too. It%26#039;s more the fact that having a child is the single most environmentally unfriendly action a person can take, and while most people who want kids%26#039;ll have a couple and just get on with it, some people seem to think that having 6 or 7 is perfectly compatible with trying to live an environmentally friendly life, which it patently isn%26#039;t.

• Just because some people have 5 or 6 kids doesn%26#039;t mean they can%26#039;t be environmentally conscious or friendly; the majority of the working class can%26#039;t afford to buy organic foods because it%26#039;s expensive, which means that the people that can actually afford it don%26#039;t usually have 5 or 6 kids.

• I haven’t had time to read all the posts and do agree with the idea that many people are %26quot;all talk%26quot; when it comes to the environment, but feel that this whole conversation is based on some deep resentment for certain types of people. I mean, is it even worth the rest of us worrying about whether or not these people are just pretending to save the environment? And if some of us are so concerned, why are they sitting here trashing those people instead talking to them and educating them as to how they can be better. Half the time people do not realize how many different ways they can change their lives to save the world. Also, in response to all the emphasis on 4 kids this and that… I can’t see even motioning this in an argument if having lots of kids and raising them well makes someone happy then keep going. One more good person on this earth. We cannot condemn them all.

  children they have, but why do many of the 4x4 drivers always seem to be driving round with no other passengers!
  I am also very suspicious that so called organic clothing is a rip off! Why dont these people buy more of their stuff from charity shops, this supports the charities and is good recycling.

I buy organic when I can afford it and I try to be environmentally friendly - but I don%26#039;t have any kids (and I%26#039;m not pregant) and I ride my bike or the bus everywhere. Please don%26#039;t pre-judge everyone because of the things they care about and I promise not to do it to you.
• I Help the environment By driving the biggest truck On the road .And pulling down trees with my truck and also like to go mudding.....biofuel is dumb so are hybrids .People who drive hybrids think there saving the world and SAVING MONEY ON GAS, well let me tell you some thing,your spending alot more maintaining the stupid thing than putting gas in it .And what ever damage we have done to the environment has already been done and we CANT change that.People dont relize we need gas to be transporting things from store to store and with out Trucks being on the road ,things will not be delievered thanks all to the treehuggers thanks for reading ....

  Some people need to reconsider they%26#039;re idea of what is %26quot;green%26quot; and what is not. Just because you recycle, doesn%26#039;t mean you%26#039;re doing all you can to save the earth. There%26#039;s a lot more to it then just that.

• Yes..u r so right..maybe they can afford it..using their stimulus checks and EIC...I know a woman who got 6 K back in total!!!! I think she has 4 kids.... And drives not oly a tank but a old gas guzzling one!!!!!! Guess they are not worried about over population..which in turn causes more earth issues!
