Keep in mind that one way to make cars more efficient is simply to drive them so that they use less gas. You%26#039;ll get better mileage in almost any car if you:accelerate slowly
keep the tires fully inflated
keep your speed at or below 65 (preferably 45-55)
coast up to red lights (rather than driving up fast and then braking hard).
I get about 20% better mileage than my car %26quot;officially%26quot; gets. Other people claim to nearly double their mileage. 100% 1 Vote

Build nuclear power plants and encourage everyone to buy electric cars. Either convert the regular cars to hybrid in the meantime or ban them outright. Reliance on foreign energy is a crime against each and every one of us. Or drill for more oil and scrub the air with the new CO2 scrubbers they%26#039;ve invented but just need $ to perfect.
Bloody cars are annoying anyway with the insurance and accidents. What I want are private cars that are computer controlled, and link together to form trains when people are going the same way, but run on the street of course, at safe speeds, and are able to stop automatically when they sense imminent collisions. And are private with tinted windows. Like a private robot chauffeur for everyone, if you can afford it. Otherwise you ride the robot bus. 0% 0 Votes -
Nuclear power plants, ethanol, gasoline - the whole lot is all outdated, ancient technology at this point. Has anyone been watching the news this spring? A company has come up with a way of %26#039;printing%26#039; solar cells on flexible plastic sheathing this last February and are working to have it out on market by end of year or next year. Our whole way of life could change for the better ~ imagine roofing your house with shingles with solar (VOC) cells incorporated into the shingles, driving electric vehicles that recharge themselves solarly thru the sheathing on their roof/hood/trunk panels.... They are even making these flexible, space age (literally) solar cell collectors into fabrics so that you will be able to plug your cell phone/ipod or whatever into your running jacket..or piece of apparel. Check out wearable technology on internet...

add 2 ounces of acetone and 2 ounces of xylene per 10 gals of gas for 10 to 15% improvement in power and mileage also place two high power magnets on your fuel line opposite each other so that they are attracting each other and secure them well for another 5%. Keep your engine tuned and tires inflated to proper psi front end aligned brakes properly working ( not sticking ) pulse plugs may help

did you know that the totally detestable flimsy plastic bags from the stores are indeed flammable! These are a horrible waste blowing down the street, caught high in trees and floating in the rivers. I bet if you put a price on their %26quot;convienience%26quot; either they will become less popular, or they may be collected and then perhaps a way to liquify them to convert the energy into the propulsion of cars!! Maybe in another lifetime.... I think that the United States ought to be spending their education dollars on pumping out more eco scientists , because the technology is not caught up with where we should be taking our imaginations... Keep your car tuned %26amp; in good condition. That%26#039;s the simplest thing you can do.
Mixing Ethanol with our Gasoline is NOT the answer!!! Our government is pushing for this as a %26quot;solution%26quot; to the gas problems but it is not!
Ethanol degrades the nitrile and butyl rubber products in the fuel systems of cars. Because ethanol burns at a much lower temperature, mileage and power are sacrificed immediately. Then, as the degrading rubber begins to clog injectors and contaminate the fuel, mileage and performance continue to degrade further.
Please contact your representatives %26amp; tell them to stop these useless plans %26amp; make real changes! Florida is already mixing our gas %26amp; not giving the consumer a choice in what to buy. Source: personal conversation with a NASA materials engineer %26amp; scientist. 0% 0 Votes
