What does energy conservation and energy saving have to do with home insulation?

Best Answer - Chosen by Voters

If your home is properly insulated, then you will use less electicity or gas to heat/cool it.

Hence conserving energy, hence better for the environment. 67% 2 Votes

  • The term thermal insulation can refer to materials used to reduce the rate of heat transfer, or the methods and processes used to reduce heat transfer.

Maintaining acceptable temperatures in buildings (by heating and cooling) uses a large proportion of total energy consumption worldwide. When well insulated, a building:

1-is energy-efficient, thus saving the owner money.
2-provides more uniform temperatures throughout the space.
3-There is less temperature gradient both vertically (between ankle height and head height) and horizontally from exterior walls, ceilings and windows to the interior walls, thus producing a more comfortable occupant environment when outside temperatures are extremely cold or hot.
4-has minimal recurring expense. Unlike heating and cooling equipment, insulation is permanent and does not require maintenance, upkeep, or adjustment. 33% 1 Vote

  • The better the insulation the less it takes to either warm or cool it, thus saving energy. 0% 0 Votes
  • A well insulated home keeps warm air from leaving the inside and cold air coming from the outside. It works the other way around during the summers. If you can keep the temperature of your house stable at a comfortable temperature to begin with, it will require less energy to heat or cool it. 0% 0 Votes
