What fruits can grow in a small green house? I intend to have a green house connecting to my house which will be built from cargo containers. This won%26#039;t happen until I get the money to make it happen, but I am just curious as to if I can grown fruits or if I will have to go to the store to buy them. Thank you!

I currently live in NY. I just know exactly what I want to do when I leave this god forsaken place. lol I%26#039;m thinking about moving to Colorado. Or even out of the country. I want to go to school for environmental studies so I%26#039;ll probably learn about this stuff later but I am interested now because I%26#039;m trying to make a plan about everything to know how much money I need for everything. 0% 0 Votes
  • Almost any kind of fruit tree is available in a dwarf variety.
You can save space by espaliering your tree.
In this technique rather then let the tree to grown in all directions you train the limbs to grown along a support(like a grape vine)
Beside holding the height down you can also grow them in a narrower space.
There are several books on the subject.
You can use this technique in a green house or outside.
You might want to grow the trees that grow well in your area outside and save your valuable green house space for the More exotic types.
you will also have to regulate the temperature of the green house(venting heat during the day and heating at night).
Keep in mind that different trees require different temperatures.
Another thing to consider is pollination.
some trees need to be pollinated by insects(bees/ butterflies)so you will have to give theses creatures access to the greenhouse.
The down side is that you also leave it accessible to the bad insects.
you will still have a lot of work trying to keep them down
Also keep in mind that the trees will still go through their standard growing cycles(don%26#039;t expect them to fruit year round) 0% 0 Votes
