do you mean a new type of energy or means of transporting and then useing/burning/unleashing energy. And do you mean 100% environmentally friendly or just better than current forms of using energy. You need to be more specific.

besides, all the earths stored energy come from or came from the sun. we do not need a new energy!
for example , coal is millions of years worth of (weather caused) pressure and carbon cycles, resulting in deposits of highly concentated carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and sulfur. this recourse is only considered to be unenvironmentally friendly because of the way it is being used. if it were used more EFFICIENTLY then there would not be so much of a problem with global waring. we would have used less of it, and emissions would be combatted by the photosynthesis of trees.
This invention that you are talking about simply need to be a way of getting the would to cutt down on usage of coal and oil, increasing efficiency, and use solar and wind energy.
