What to do with old lighters? Mom quit smoking, and while helping her clean up, we found at least 2 dozen used lighters, some almost drained, some almost full. No one in our house smokes, and I don%26#039;t know anyone that does. Should I turn them over to the police or something?

You should save the lighters and place them in an emergency kit and your car. These could prove to be life savers in an emergency.

• Throw them in a fire and watch them explode. Be sure to wear eye protection.
• if you can pull the little metal piece of the front. pull it off and twist the flame height thing around loads just keep going until its hissing then put it down one. light it turn it upside down and it makes an impressive bang and burst of flame or just spurts everywhere. or just put them in the bin.
• If any of them are the old style flip top type, there was someone on craigslist awhile back that was buying them. Sorry, don%26#039;t remember the city I was looking at, but you could advertise them on there. Hope this helps.
