I%26#039;m actually in Vermont, but I work for a company that sells electronics to consumers in CA. I%26#039;m referring to the CEWS act of 2004 that levies a few for anything with a CRT, LCD or plasma display over 4%26quot; that is sold in CA.3 months ago
I meant %26quot;fee%26quot; not %26quot;few%26quot; in the previous post.

Most of us in CA are aware of the scam, so we wait until we get the household roundup coupon from our recycler which enables us to take electronics for recycling for free. It comes twice a year and does limit the amount you can bring, however. Also, some of the stores and schools have programs where they reuse parts and rennovate electronics for schools in other countries, so we wait for the announcements to get the tax donation. In CA, they find any way possible to get their hands into your pocketbook as much as they can. And, in this case they get it coming and going.Other Answers (4)

What dump are you going to? My county landfill doesn%26#039;t charge to dump electronics.
Unsure of what electronics recycling fee you%26#039;re referring to. Is this for large electronic devices like TVs %26amp; such? -
The electronics recycling fee is $8 per item. That is nowhere near enough to recycle it. The rest is paid by the consumer.

If anyone really wanted to make a difference, they would pay YOU to recycle. This shows what a money pit the whole ideal is.

It doesn%26#039;t surprise me a bit.
