• Often the solar energy needs government support to be able to succeed. A solar unit costs a lot to install especially in a country like India where average incomes are still low. May this is a reason.
  The government needs to push and market it and subsidize it.
  
  If you speak of solar cookers for example, it looks great but in fact it is not very convenient to use.
  
  There is also the fear to change a habit or tradition which is a brake for a new idea to succeed.
