Would you expect the water cycle to distribute energy from the tropics towards the North and South poles, or from the poles toward the tropic?

water distributes heat with currents that are known...fot examplr in the north east of america the warm ocean currents travel up the coast from florida towards maine then up to the arctic and back around to england from there by then they are much colder obviously. but the pacific current off california goes down the coast. There for the ocean temp in california the pacific ocean is a bit colder than the atlantic during the summer months.
